I’ve been wanting a round table for my square dining room. The dining room is exactly 12ft by 12ft and the rectangular table I had in there wasn’t the best fit. A few months ago, I found a 60inch round dining table with 4 chairs on Craigslist. The finish wasn’t what I was going for so I had visions of painting the table and chairs myself. I ended up a little scared to paint a table that people would use and see often so I had it painted (black) instead. But, I did tackle the chairs myself. I painted them bright white and changed the seat cushion fabric. It was really pretty easy. The problem was, I wanted the table to seat 6 but I only had four chairs. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of money on 2 new chairs. I looked around at my favorite stores (Homegoods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx) and at garage sales. I found chairs chairs that would work, but they were too expensive, then I found inexpensive chairs that wouldn’t work because they were the wrong size. Finally, last week I found two matching chairs at Goodwill. They were sturdy and in good shape and $13 for the pair. Score!
I painted those suckers white, and reupholstered with fabric matching the other 4 chairs and they fit right in! Here’s a quick phone pic of the after.
