On his regular, grocery shopping trips, A buys mandarin oranges and peaches that come in a clear glass jar. He stores them in the refrigerator so they’ll be cold for partaking and eats the fruit right out of the jar. Instead of throwing the containers away, he started peeling off the label and keeping them. In no time at all, we have a bit of a collection. It was a great idea because instead of generating more trash, we’ve been able to repurpose them.
I’ve used them as vases to hold flowers.
And most recently I used them as glasses for the punch (along with super cute retro straws) served at my Favorite Things party.
We save the lids too, so they are good for storage.
Have you been able to repurpose any packaging from something else? Do share!
