Well, I did it. I clicked the button on my first purchase for the kitchen. We’ve been busy getting quotes for cabinets and counter tops (more updates next week), but had not actually made any decisions or purchases yet. That’s all changed, though, with the exciting (haha) update of choosing a range vent hood for the stove.
The electric, flat surface cooktop resides in a peninsula that has a set of top cabinets hanging over it. That set of cabinets hosts the current builder grade vent hood. To open up the space, we are going to remove the top cabinets which means we’ll need to replace the current hood with a vent hood that would work over an island/does not need a wall to mount to. Kind of like they did over at Involving Color.
Island range hoods can be pretty pricey so I’m happy to have found this one with excellent reviews. (Amazon also has similar choices)
I was able to use a coupon too, so I paid even less! If you don’t already, Google for coupon codes before you make a purchase online. Every little bit helps! See how we vented it here.
