After 7 years of bare windows (is that crazy?), we finally have kitchen curtains. I think at first I wasn’t sure how to handle the situation and then that progressed to just having no motivation since I didn’t like the kitchen the way it was. But that’s all changed and it’s time to deal with the windows. It’s a bay window but not one window, three separate windows. I finally found some inspiration and I picked up this rod at Lowes.
The main difference with this rod and regular rods is that it has two of these rubber, flexible corners:

It was pretty easy to mount. I just followed the picture instructions.
I knew I wanted to incorporate gray on this side of the room so I bought the Aina curtains in a light gray (that ties in really well with the marble backsplash). The fabric is linen. It feels much lighter and more kitchen-appropriate. By the way, I love Ikea’s prices on curtains, especially since I needed four panels. I also love that they come in such long lengths and can be hemmed without sewing!
Do you have a go-to place for reasonably priced curtains? I am also looking for an extra long shower curtain. If you have any suggestions let me know.

The new ones look great. I think you made the right decision with the lighter curtains. Makes it feel so airy.
I get a lot of curtains from World Market. I’m a little bit addicted to their curtains. Not as inexpensive as Ikea, but still very reasonable. They also have some great shower curtains.
WOW Your kitchen does not look the same as when we were there which seems like years ago, well it was years ago. Like the idea of the light gray curtains and that rod is really great. Love it and YOU
I like them both! Nice. I really need to head over to Ikea for my living room dilema.
looks like you tied it all together. (much better match to the granite)
Agreed that the light curtains are a nice fit! Ikea does have very reasonable prices on curtains. Too bad I don’t live closer to one…or maybe it’s a good thing I don’t? 😛
Goodness…what a fabulous transformation. Haven’t been keeping up (crazy busy @ wk), but I can see you’ve been busy. Everythings looks outrageous, and I cannot wait o see the finished design!
What a great little rod! I didn’t even know they made those. You’re right – light grey was definitely the way to go! Looks great, ceiling fan and all 🙂
Your room looks awesome and I love the drapes. I don’t have an Ikea very close so before I make the drive…in your room the drapes look gray with a slight blue undertone…in some other blogs they look bright baby blue…so hard to tell on-line.on the Ikea website they look blue/green gray…can you give me advice on the color? Thanks.
Sure, they are a light gray with a VERY slight blue undertone. They are not baby blue at all. In person they don’t seem to have a green undertone at all. I hope that helps.
I know this post was made quite some time ago but do you know if Lowes still sells these? I bought some from Ikea but would love another option that is easier for me to get. Thanks!
I haven’t checked in the past 2 months but they still sold them at the beginning of this year!
