I had a couple of boot trays from the Target $1 bin placed at the front and back door for our shoes but I like this upgrade much better.
Even though we take off our shoes upon entry, they don’t make for a pretty sight when they’re all piled up at the door. We don’t have a lot of room for a piece of furniture to function as shoe storage in the foyer so I placed a basket at the foot of the stairs.
Since the back door enters into the main living room, I thought a nicer, tall basket would work well by the french doors to hide messy piles of shoes. It’s a hyacinth basket (HomeGoods) and it ties into the banana leaf chair in the room.
Baskets are so handy! How are you using them in your home?

I too, take of my shoes upon arrival. I have a basket at the back door but never thought about putting one at the front entrance. nice basket!
a real need in colder climates where the shoes come off in the arctic entries. however, when you have more than 6 people removing their shoes it’s a mess. these are good ideas for normal traffic areas.
Good idea and nice touch in theory…and I love the baskets…but I’m not gonna want my $200 Tory Burch’s sitting at the bottom of a heap of shoes!! H-to-the-NAW.
LOL! Touche!
Where is the front door shoe basket from?
HomeGoods!
