So, at the end of May I started container gardening by planting some herbs.
This pot with the basil is doing great! Look how tall it is a month later.
I replanted my sad rosemary plant so that it could get more sun. But it looks the same to me. 🙁
What is wrong? Let me know what I should do differently!

Don’t let your basil grow flowers – it will stop producing delicious leaves! It looks like it’s getting close to flowering at the top – just cut off the tops where the leaves start to get tiny – actually you can cut down a bit farther.
Thanks! Cutting it this morning!
Rosemary wants VERY SANDY, VERYwell drained, soil and it likes it a little on the DRY side. Allow the plant to dry out betewen waterings. Also, they like 6-8 hrs of sun. My guess is that your soil may be too heavy and/or you might be watering too much. I did the very same thing! Also, Pinch the flowers off of your basil and any other herbs (except chamomile) that start to flower. That way, the plant will put it’s energy into growing more leaves instead of flowers! Your basil is ready to make some FABULOUS dishes! Pinch it and use it, that’ll encourage more growth! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you Kimberly that is SOOOO helpful! I think you’ve hit the nail on the head about the soil for the rosemary. It does get plenty of sun and it’s not too wet. I will adjust the soil mix.
I pour my coffee grounds in once a week on my rosemary plant.
