You know how I mentioned it’s the year of the wedding for me? Well, the last wedding I was in, the third one this year, was a destination wedding. We all flew to Jamaica at the beginning of the month! The wedding party stayed in this house, the Sand Dollar Villa. Of course, I had to snap a few pictures to share the decor.
The house has five bedrooms and each bedroom has it’s own private bath. The master bathroom even had a twin bed in it! It was in the same area with the spa tub. What do you suppose that’s for? Massages?
Speaking of beds, most of the bedrooms had four poster beds that were very high. So high, you needed a step stool to get in them. And check out those exposed wood ceilings! Ours was the only room with a bed of ‘normal’ height, kind of ironic since we were were the tallest people there.
I loved how the outdoor spaces were designed. There were several patio areas that boasted day beds and chairs that seemed more like indoor furniture than the typical patio furniture.
The house rental also included chef and housekeeping services. We had every meal cooked for us on premises for four days. I could definitely get used to that. I wanted to take the cook home!
And just a few blocks away, definitely within walking distance, we had this view every day. It was so relaxing and beautiful. For Part 2, I’ll share some glimpses of the wedding and reception dinner with some great ideas for outdoor entertaining.
Where have you been lately? Have you ever attended a destination wedding? I have to say, the picturesque location shows up so well in wedding photos!

Jae, I know you loved those turquoise gates. Beautiful colors, beautiful food, beautiful view. Lucky you.
I love the villa! Colorful surroundings lifts the mood indeed. The beach doesn’t hurt either. Thanks for sharing.
Lucky you! Love the outdoor spaces.
Photos look great!
We eloped to the island of St. Maarten. Got married on the beech and it was beautiful. I think photos did reflect the beauty of the island. It was amazing.
