In Part 1, you saw our Jamaican home (away from home) for a destination wedding. After the wedding, it was time to party at an outdoor dinner reception for twenty.
In my opinion, the lanterns hanging from the tree branches made all the difference once the sun set. Now I want to hang lanterns in our backyard for a dinner al fresco.
The table setting was actually pretty simple. There were a few candles, a blue runner, and then the water glasses held the white napkins we used for dinner.
The cake had it’s own table. It was small since there were only twenty guests.
But once we returned to Georgia, the bride and groom hosted a reception for their friends that couldn’t make it to the wedding. And that reception had plenty of cake! I thought the groom’s cake was hilarious. Guess what the groom’s favorite store is? AND he happens to be a truck driver.
Even the reception favors were cake – individual cupcakes boxed up to take home. They were delicious.
With that, my wedding whirlwind is over! It’s been a fun-filled, busy few months. Have you been to a wedding (or three) lately? Or seen any clever wedding or grooms cakes? Or maybe just tried any new cake recipes? I’m in the mood to bake.
