I did a little happy dance the day our new couch arrived. It’s exciting to get a new piece of furniture but it was even more of an event because I’d never seen it before (at least in person, I did see one picture taken right before it shipped). That nervous anticipation turned into a happy satisfaction.
And for comparison’s sake, you can tell I didn’t vary too much from old to new in terms of color or material. I just went with more clean, straight lines this time around. Here’s the old sofa:
To recap, after a lot of research, we ordered our new couch from Roger & Chris. We ordered a model that was only a prototype, not yet listed on the website (this one is very similiar). I was able to customize the piece by choosing the number of cushions, material (leather), and accessories (nailhead trim).
The leather (we chose Bentley Bomber) feels fabulous: smooth, soft and not cold. The cushions are comfortable. The biggest difference for me is the depth of this new couch. Along with only having 2 cushions, it’s 42 inches deep (and 84 inches long) which is really nice for tall people (and only tall people live here). I can cross my legs and sit on one cushion without hanging over a seat crack or without my knees hanging over the front of the couch. That’s pretty sweet.
The couch was made in North Carolina and the time period from order to arrival was two months. Delivery was provided by the Reliable Trucking Co. and was quick and easy. It was unloaded from the truck, unwrapped, and placed directly in it’s spot in the living room.
The people at Roger and Chris and their partners, the Comfortable Couch Co., were very easy to work with as well. We communicated via email and phone and they were very responsive. Best of all, we love the end result!
Have you made a big furniture purchase online? Or are you in the ‘must sit in it/see it in person’ camp? I definitely see how ordering furniture you’ve never sat in or seen can go horribly wrong…

That is a handsome sofa! Great choice.
Hello, I have been looking for reviews on furniture from the Comfortable Couch Co as I have been thinking of purchasing a sofa from there. I am curious how your sofa has held up for the last year you have had it? It looks fabulous in your pictures!
Hi Christina,
CoCoCo was really great to work with. It’s only been 5 months, but our couch is doing just fine so far. No complaints. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
