These items are basically ‘the dollar crew’. The corkboard (found already painted black) from Goodwill was 99 cents. The Martha Stewart paint (Persimmon Red) was marked down to $1 and the fabric was just a little over $1. I already had the fabric and paint when I found the corkboard.
I had four, small cork tiles on my closet wall that I used to hang my necklaces. But that setup was from years ago and the cork tiles are small. The jewelry situation was looking rather messy.
So, I put my thrifty finds together to create a new jewelry board. I painted the frame of the corkboard and just ironed the fabric (love that print!) and used push pins in the corners to hold the fabric in place. You could also use glue or metal tacks a la nail head trim (as I did for the corkboard in the office). I already had the oversized pushpins on which to hang things from the previous setup. The new board is bigger, but still fits in my small walk-in closet and the colors are fun!
It’s nice when disparate, inexpensive items can come together for something so useful. What inexpensive items have you found lately? Or have you reorganized your jewelry or any other collections?

This is very nice idea! Thanks for sharing!
Love it. Mind if I use this idea. LOL. Thanks.
My husband just put me up a pegboard this weekend with hooks that I hang my necklaces and bracelets on. Usually what you would put in a workshop. Love it. It’s inside my closet.
Thanks!
Of course, use away.
And Dixie, that’s a great idea. If I used a pegboard, I’d paint it a fun color.
I JUST created a jewelry corkboard of my own last week 🙂 Backed it with some fun fabric too – gray chevron.
Oh, and I bet I know where you got those fabric remnants from that I see in the picture above! 🙂
I think yours is plenty fancy! I love the pop of colour.
