Design OCD averages about 13 posts per month. At first, I intended to recap the highlights by quarter, but am just getting a chance to do it at the end of the year. I like recaps because they not only catch you up on anything you’ve missed, but they make for great references, along with making it easy to see all that’s been accomplished in a period of time. Without further adieu, here’s the BIG recap. Here are the highlights by month for 2012.
January
This month was the month we made important decisions for our kitchen renovation. We looked at granite counter tops, pendant lighting, and also managed to do a little clean up and organization.

April
Spring arrived and brought pollen with it. But once it was gone, we cleaned up the screened porch for al fresco dining. We also cleaned up the garage (so much better now!) and took another look at the houseplants I’ve managed not to kill.
- Outdoor spaces: screened porch, parents front porch
- Plants: indoors and anywhere
- Mission Organization: Garage
- Bathroom Accessorizing
- DIY: Make Your Own Limoncello
May
May was low key around the house as we’d just been super busy with weddings and travel. I finally got around to hemming the curtains hung in February, tackled some design dilemmas, and shared some room tours. The blog celebrated another post milestone with a guest post by Molly over at the Nesting Game. I also resumed the monthly blooms post (on hiatus since January).

- Spotlight: a peek into my parents living room
- Curtains: not just for windows

Three peeks into other people’s homes, a little accessorizing, progress in the basement, and a house crashing: that about sums up the beginning of summer.

September
It feels like I was really busy the month before and didn’t do a lot during September. We had two rooms featured over on Better After and the blog had another milestone post: #200! I shared lifestyle and entertaining ideas with posts on a summer cocktail, new houseplants, and our trip to Jamaica. We also finally placed an order for a new couch, sight unseen.
- Another kind of milestone – no more embarrassing rooms.
- DIY: ‘dipped’ bowl
- A front door goes bold
- 2 for 200(posts)! It was a two post day with functional favorites and three big changes for small amounts
- Monthly Blooms: New houseplants
- Our trip to Jamaica!
October
It sure seems like the painting never ends around here. But it has to come to end eventually, right? At least the month started off with doors being crossed of the painting list. As the weather cooled, I tackled a few easy projects which are so satisfying to complete.
- Interior doors go dark
- Make Your Grout Look Brand New
- DIY: Gold Glam, a jewelry pinboard, abstract art, and a Burlap Headboard
- Our new couch arrived!
- Monthly Blooms: Red & Yellow
November
This is my favorite month! The weather changed and the leaves fell – fall officially arrived. It’s also a little harder to spray paint in the colder weather. So, instead, I tackled interior painting and knocked out the guest room.
- Inspired by the season: fireplace mantel and a new front door color
- DIY: Antique dresser update, a no sew-pillow
- Guest bedroom makeover
- Monthly Blooms: Red Centerpieces
December
The leaves are all gone and winter is here! For once, there were no major painting projects this month. I took a break from more involved projects and shared a few easy crafts and things we actually did in the previous month, like our first trip to Charleston.
- DIY: Repurposed faux fruit as place cards
- Use glitter ornaments all year!
- What to do with greeting cards
- Entertaining with sparkle
Yup, this qualifies as my longest post yet. But it’s nice to have all the makeovers, projects, and ideas summarized in one place. I have enjoyed blogging for another year and look forward to seeing how next year’s recap looks! Thanks for reading.

Wonderful summary!
What’s on the calendar for 2013?
It’s hard to predict what 2013 will bring but I see some bathroom updates and wood trim updates in our future. How about you?
Thanks for reading!
Well…it’s hard to say here at the Bucket List House? I get “Epiphanies” and then MC and I try and make them a reality! We have lots of Annie Sloan Chalk paint left over from the kitchen and bath cabinets redo so who knows what will get Annied?
