I recently hung this original oil painting in a bare corner in the guest room. My mom had it framed in this gilded frame long ago. I like how the gold in the frame ties into the gold in the sunburst mirror above the bed and the color of the burlap headboard.
It so happens that this is technically another DIY painting. I used to take art classes as a child and I painted this piece when I was teenager. My recent foray into abstract painting inspired me to pull some of my old oil work out of hiding to see the light of day. I have about five other paintings from that time period and would like to find a place in the house to at least display one or two more. I’m working on updating a frame I already had to hang another painting with this one. Stay tuned.
Have you kept any of your childhood creations? Have you found a place to display them for everyday enjoyment?

We have one of your “Originals” hanging above our desk!
Don’t make me go in my attic searching for treasures. LOL. Great painting…good location.!!!!
Do it! Pull them down and hang new art. 🙂
