A couple of weeks ago, I hosted lunch and wanted to seat eight around our dining table that usually seats six. The chairs that came with the table have a wide seat and I thought a seat with a smaller width would work better for fitting in two more chairs at the table. So, I moved some chairs around. I took the chairs that are usually at the kitchen table and moved them into the dining room and then moved the dining room chairs to the kitchen.
I love the way the white chairs look in the kitchen so I just didn’t move them back.
You can see the setup the way it was before in the kitchen here:

After I did it, I remembered my mom commented awhile back that my chairs were reversed. The chairs in the kitchen looked more formal and the dining room chairs looked more like they belonged in a kitchen. Turns out mom was right.
You can get a new look by just moving things you already have around. Have you tried furniture or accessories in a new room and ended up liking it better than the original setup?
