Whenever we travel out of the country we inevitably return with foreign currency and small things that remind us of the trip but aren’t necessarily souvenirs we’ve specifically purchased. We’ve kept the coins and a few trinkets stashed away in a drawer but I finally pulled a few out when I figured out a method and place to display them.
I picked up two Ribba shadow boxes from Ikea last year and got them out along with heavy weight, colored open stock paper and foam adhesive dots (both from Michaels) for this project.
The small, handmade clay bowl was given to us while we were visiting Santiago, Chile. Over the past few years, I hadn’t found the ideal spot for it. I decided to frame it along with a few coins from that trip and from a prior trip to Tokyo. The adhesive dots are double sided and I used them to adhere the coins to the paper.
Placed in a space we use everyday, the powder room, we can enjoy small reminders from our trip all the time!
How have you displayed souvenirs from your travels?

What a brilliant idea! I never collect cool stuff because I never know what to do with it, but this is perfect! Love that bright color too!
This is a really good idea. I have some things that I could frame that I would have never thought to. I’d love it if you would share this over at my link party.

That is such a great idea. Pinning it. My husband has a ton of coins from all his work trips.
And also love the gold mirror.
Oh thanks! Found at an antique market.
