Remember this mirror?
I like it so much that even though it didn’t work for me above the guest bed, I just didn’t want to return it to the store. I kept it stored under the bed for a few weeks while I looked around the house for a place to use it. I decided it may work out splendidly on a wall in the kitchen once I replace the no-longer-my-style baker’s rack. But I don’t know when I’ll find the piece of furniture to replace the rack and I didn’t want the mirror to be sad in the dark under the bed just waiting to be called up for duty.
I brought it out last week and hung it in the living room over the desk. This desk is used more often as a landing spot (when we come in and out the back door) than an actual work or study area and I think a mirror in this area will be nice for checking things out on the way out the house. The room gets very little natural light so hopefully it can also bounce around some of the lamp light too.
To jog your memory, here’s how this spot looked before. The switch out seems more streamlined, less cluttered, and it was time for a break from the red coloring in the poster.
As you can tell the mirror-for-art switch wasn’t the only change. I am also trying out a peace lily instead of a snake plant. Right now, it’s green and luscious but I really want to see how it will do in these light conditions. I’ll report back on how it fares.
What changes have you made lately? Have any other houseplant suggestions for low light levels?

Love your choice in the living room.
Great change. I love to switch things around. It’s amazing how everything seems new and bright!
