“It’s all in the details”. We hear that phrase a lot, especially when it comes to decorating. Last weekend I painted the inside of the half bath window, the mullions, black. It’s a small thing, but it makes such a difference! [The half bath is difficult for me to photograph but I’m practicing]
This window needed painting anyway. I’d painted the window trim a bright white but the mullions were still cream/off white. I always do that when I’m painting a room. I paint the window trim and leave the sash and mullions undone. I did it in the laundry room. See?
That wasn’t really on purpose. But I’ve since decided it’s fine and it’s staying that way. It’s not a good method in general because some windows have remained unpainted for years. Windows are my least favorite thing to paint. I can’t be bothered with taping off all the panes so I free hand it and then spend a bunch of time scraping paint off the glass.
In the half bath, I decided to go with black because it’s a detail in a small room making it a little more noticeable and the bathroom door has been painted black. I like the continuity.
The window over my kitchen sink is also sporting the same look. Do you like the look of dark window sashes and mullions?

an eye for detail. i like the change, subtle but different
I like the appearance. It draws the eyes. Looks great!
Love the change!! Very chic!
What color is the exterior of the windows? White? I am considering doing the same but torn between white or black exterior windows. Can’t tell how that will look white and black through the window pane. -Thanks! L
Exterior is painted white!
