Don’t you love it? What a good idea. I think I will be painting the window over my sink black. But I already digress.
My current cabinets are not modular, they are solid wood and were probably built there in the house. They were finished in a walnut stain but we had that painted 6 years ago. The current finish is not what we originally wanted, but it’s what we were stuck with after a fiasco. There’s nothing wrong with the base cabinets. I want to replace the doors and drawer fronts and add roll out drawers and bins for a couple of the cabinets.
Last time I mentioned the kitchen, I told you two people came out for measuring and quotes. The quotes were (what I considered to be) ridiculous for what I want to do – replace drawers and doors. Since then, I have had 3 more people come out to give quotes and I’m pretty sure we’ve found the company we will go with.
Here are a few images from kitchens I’ve pinned on Pinterest.
Notice what they all have in common? Shaker style cabinetry in white. Now you know our direction for the new doors and drawers. We shall be placing the order in a couple of weeks. Still trying to figure out the counter top situation. I’m pretty sure soapstone and quartz are out of the running due to price. Lots more updates forthcoming!

P.S. Thanks again to Cassity at Remodelholic for featuring our master bedroom update too!
i like the look in this kitchen. it’s a nice drawing point. however, will that work with your planned changes?
I LOVE the black window in the first photo… this reminds me of the black trim/doors we were discussing a while back… probably shouldn’t let either of us loose with black paint 🙂
haha! so true.
