I’ve been considering what to do about under cabinet lighting since my new cabinets are frameless.
I used to have old fluorescent lights underneath the counters. They were concealed by the cabinet frames except they had to be plugged in. The new cabinets have no place to hide these big things so I had to come up with another solution. Since the backsplash has yet to be installed, running hard wire to connect under cabinet lighting was an option but that wasn’t a DIY task for me and I didn’t want the extra expense of an electrician.
I’d heard the battery operated LED lights were not very powerful and semi-useless for task lighting. But I discovered a set of pucks that are both powerful and lack that bright bluish hue. They have a softer white light and work well for task lighting and are operated by 3 AA batteries. They come with a thin adhesive on the back so you can just stick them on whatever you’d like.
They come in both a stainless steel and a white finish. I found them at Lowes. I placed two under the corner cabinet but they would work well to illuminate the interior of glass fronted cabinets as well.
Have you found any other great lighting solutions? I am still trying to find a fixture I love to replace the ugly fan over the kitchen table.
