Have you heard of pestemal? Pestemal is a traditional turkish towel. It’s a handmade woven cloth that is used, in Turkey, as a coverup in hammam (turkish bath) or wrapped around the waist to protect clothes while working. It is absorbant and can be used as a regular towel or as a beach towel. I’ve seen them pop up as throws across furniture and even runners or tablecloths for table settings. I recently ordered two (his and hers), one white with gray stripes and one gray with white stripes, from the Turkish Towel Store via Amazon. I chose 100% cotton, but linen is also available. They were shipped directly from Turkey and shipping was fast!

Ohhhh they are gorgeous. I would love them also. They will be on my wish list.
Those towels sound wonderful. We have been working with a new fabric in our silk ribbon embroidery. It is bamboo and rayon felt. Wonderful to work with as it is soft and still feels and acts like felt. Comes in many beautiful colors as well. Depending on the project it requires little machine sewing.
